Our Lady of Peace Retreat House in Beaverton, OR is staffed by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows. The founding charism of this order is "evangelization through missionary zeal and sacrifice." Specifically, the Retreat House in Beaverton fulfills its mission of evangelization by providing those in the Pacific Northwest with opportunities for weekend retreats throughout the year. The Retreat House also houses the largest Catholic gift shop and bookstore on the west side of Portland. The Retreat House is, essentially, a small vigil lamp that has continued to give light to this area since its inception in 1954. |
