How do I register?
There are several ways to register for a retreat:
- Online: select Retreat Registration Form. Upon completion, you’ll receive a confirmation of your retreat enrollment by email.
- Mail/Fax: download the appropriate form, then print and fill it out. Either mail or fax it to Our Lady of Peace.
- Phone: call The Retreat House during office hours: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
When do I pay?
The suggested donation can be paid in advance, upon arrival or at the end of the retreat. Cash, checks or credit cards are welcome. (MasterCard, VISA)
What are typical retreat activities?
Our retreats typically include conferences related to the theme of the retreat, Mass, opportunity for Confessions, time for silent reflection, free time to wander the beautiful grounds.
Do I need to be Catholic?
No, people of all faiths and walks of life are invited to attend retreats Many of our retreatants represent religious traditions other than Catholic, and many who are not Christian have found a welcome opportunity for spiritual renewal here.
What are the rooms like?
Each retreatant is assigned a private room; however, the room does have a shared bath. You will find our bedrooms simple with a comfortable bed, blankets, clean sheets and an extra pillow and blanket. The rooms have a small desk with chair and a bible, an easy chair, a small closet, and each room has its own sink and mirror.
Generally, room assignments are planned prior to your arrival. If you have a special need or preference for your accommodations, please advise us when you register.
What should I bring?
Please bring your own towel, soap and shampoo. We provide all your bedding. There are toiletries for sale in the gift shop. We provide light snacks, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks.
What should I wear?
Casual clothing is appropriate. Since the weather can be varied here, even in the course of a single day, we recommend that you bring warm clothes. You might want to bring comfortable shoes so that you can enjoy walking the trail.
What kind of meals are served?
Freshly prepared, seasonally appropriate and ample meals are offered. The meals are served buffet-style in our dining room.
If you require a special diet, please inform us when you register. We will do our best to meet your needs.
Are snacks available?
Coffee, tea, ice water, fruit and other snacks (often fresh-baked cookies) are available in the Dining Room from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
What are the grounds like?
The Retreat House is situated on 24 wooded acres in the Beaverton area. There is a paved pathway through the woods with the Stations of the Cross, Our Lady of Guadalupe shrine, St. Joseph shrine, and over 20 other Statues located on the property.
What is the smoking policy?
Smoking is permitted in the front of the retreat house. It is asked that there be no smoking in-between the room wings as the smoke gets into the rooms.
Is there a bookstore at the Retreat House?
Yes, there is a small gift shop that offers bibles, books, gift items, rosaries, medals, statues, holy cards, note pads, pens and a small selection of snacks and candy bars.
What time do weekend retreats start and when do they end?
For weekend retreats, registration begins at 4:00p.m. and starts with Dinner at 6:00p.m. Weekend retreats end after Lunch at 1:00p.m.
What time do day retreats start and end?
For day retreats, registration begins at 8:30a.m. and the retreat starts at 9:00a.m. Lunch is served at 12:00noon. Day retreats end at 2:30p.m.
