Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows

Our community observes the evangelical counsels of Our Lord Jesus Christ: The general aim is the honor and glory of God through the sanctification of the sisters by a faithful observance of the public vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience according to the Rule of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis and the Constitutions of our congregation. The particular apostolate is evangelization with a spirit of missionary zeal and sacrifice.

The spirituality of our community is centered on the gospel imitation of Christ, particularly in his poverty and self-surrender, as proposed by the charisma of St. Francis of Assisi. Our Franciscan founder, Bishop Rafael Cingelo Palazzi, OFM, also entrusted us with a spirit of zeal for evangelization, giving emphasis to the needs of China and mission territories of the world, while serving other needs of the Church according to our resources. We have a special devotion to Our Blessed Mother as co-redemptrix with Christ at the foot of the Cross.
